Up for sale is my 1977 FJ 40. I put a lot of work and money into building this and it is time to let it go and start a new project. It would take me awhile to say all the things that I have done so here are the cliff notes:
I started this project by putting everything on a frame that was sand blasted and then POR 15. I cut out all the rust on the body and replaced it with heavy 1/8" sheet metal so if you hit something on the quarters it will not be denting. I added some built in sliders on the rockers so those won't be moving either. It is sitting on nearly new BDS suspension and 5.29 gears to push the 37" MTR tires. The front end has an ARB air locker and a York air compressor to fuel it. I did power steering conversion with a remanufactured Saginaw steering box. The original 2F and four speed drive train was cleaned and new gaskets put on any leaky parts. The paint is Monstaliner so there is no need to worry about pin stripping on the trail. It has a custom roll cage and seat cradle that hold the new racing seats. I do have some pictures of the rehab if you are interested. Feel free to contact me with any questions but I don't receive text.
The FJ40 is located in Rapid City, SD about six hours north of Denver. Delivery is a possibility.
