This 1970 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 received a body-off refurbishment in Colombia between 2018 and 2021, after which it was acquired by the seller and imported to the US in June 2022. Refurbishment work is said to have included rebuilds of the 3.9-liter inline-six, four-speed manual transmission, and dual-range transfer case in addition to a repaint of the body in blue and a re-trim of the cabin with orange vinyl. Equipment includes a tan soft top, a winch, manually-locking front hubs, power steering, front disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, air conditioning, rear jump seats, a Bluetooth-capable retro-look stereo, and aftermarket speakers. Service prior to importation reportedly included the replacement of the carburetor, spark plugs, coolant temperature sensor, fuel filter, and battery. This FJ40 is now offered with refurbishment photos, import documents, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

During the refurbishment, the body was removed from the frame and refinished in blue. The frame was painted black and the truck was reassembled with replacement hardware, trim, emblems, mirrors, locks, and lighting. Equipment includes a replacement tan soft top, a Warn winch, a fold-down windshield, split rear tailgate doors, and a rear-mounted spare wheel and tire.

Blue-painted 15″ steel wheels with hubcaps wear 31×10.5″ Unigrip Road Force M/T tires. The truck is equipped with manually-locking Aisin front hubs. Power steering and front disc brakes were reportedly installed during the refurbishment.

The refreshed cabin features front bucket seats and inward-facing rear jump seats trimmed in orange vinyl. Equipment includes hand-crank windows, air conditioning, a Bluetooth-capable RetroSound stereo, and aftermarket speakers. The seller notes discoloration of the paint on the rear floor.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames replacement instrumentation including a 160-km/h speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 53k kilometers (~33k miles).

The 3.9-liter F inline-six was rebuilt during the refurbishment, which is said to have included an overhaul of the electrical system. Service prior to importation reportedly included the replacement of the carburetor, spark plugs, coolant temperature sensor, fuel filter, and battery. Power is sent to the wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, both of which are said to have been rebuilt.
