A great and adventure-filled life, chance, and luck have combined to achieve this incredible cosmetic patina, and my passion to build a reliable daily driver, are what you see here.
Vehicles like this rent for several thousands of dollars per week for TV and film.
Recently completed several thousand dollars worth of work at a vintage British European Auto in San Pedro, CA and at Mike’s Foreign Car Repair in Redondo Beach, CA, where he has been working on these for the Armenian military since they were new.
The list of work done is exhaustive, but includes a full engine service, full new brakes from the master cylinder, hard lines, steel braided lines, shaped shoes, resurfaced new drums, hubs, axles, drive shaft, radiator, carb, fuel pump, fuel tank, dozens of other items. This is the gas version, not the slower diesel option, so with the overdrive that has been recently installed, she is actually freeway capable and ready to take you anywhere.
This is my only car and my daily driver, but I am moving. In this condition, people go nuts for it at every light. They leave sweet notes on it at the store. It’s really a lot cooler in person.
It had the right seven-seat combo, the safari roof, the ladder, the perfect tire and wheel combo, even a legally currently registered California black plate and clean title in hand. This is a foot shorter and 2” narrower than an Miata to put the scale into perspective, so she fits in the smallest compact parking spot with ease. These are rapidly appreciating and you cannot recreate this patina. The perfectly restored trailer queens make them a lot less fun to drive. This one is a blast for going to the store, the beach, the mountains and off road adventures where larger, less capable vehicles can’t get.
