4WD for Sale, 1977 International Harvester Scout II 4x4

Found this classic 4x4 SUV offered for sale on Craigslist for $23,000 in Aliso Viejo, California. The Scout II series made by International Harvester in 1977, finished in blue and is believed better than all competitors in its era. Well cared for, the Scout has been the current owner's surf truck for the last few years and is a joy to drive, and has never let its owner down. It had some updates in recent years with original IH Scout parts.

Hard to find imperfections from here. This Scout was listed 19 days ago on Craigslist and was still online when we posted it here, all looks tough overall. If you're interested, a closer inspection is a must.

This has been my surf truck for several years, fun to drive and runs great. Has been well maintained, worn parts replaced with original IH Scout parts, and has had a few upgrades the last couple years. Don't want to sell it but need space.

- 345 V8, automatic, power steering and power brakes.
- Professional tune last month with fully rebuilt carburetor (w/warranty), new plugs, wires, coil, roto, and distributor cap.
- Engine rebuilt at some point by previous owner - estimated under 50k miles.
- Recent smog and current registration.
- Passes CA smog no problem (legally), with good (low) emission report. Mechanic said engine runs perfect.
- Interstate battery replacement 2/23.
- Mufflers replaced early this year - sounds good.
- New Warn locking hubs installed 2 years ago.
- All gauges and lights work, doors lock, horn works (button on dash), recent new 16" Scout steering wheel, has original front and rear seat belts.
- JVC cd/ bluetooth/ phone mic - stereo works and sounds good for only door speakers.
- Includes bikini top, no hard top. I prefer no top, however hard tops or full soft tops available online. The previous owner who had it for over 20 years accidentally crushed original hard top with a tree while top was off.
- 2 sets of keys (ignition and door keys).
- New Shocks on 4" lift springs (new shocks fit 1"-4" lift). I was planning on lowering it to a 2" lift but now that will be up to the new owner to decide on lift, wheels, etc.
- Original IH Scout 15" steel wheels. Tires are a couple years old but have plenty of tread left. I have the hubcaps if wanted.
- Also have a set of size 33" mud tires on IH chrome wheels I can sell separately (see last picture).
- Old blue paint is faded and has been touched up/spray painted in spots, drive as is or invest in a good paint job. Scouts are going up in value.
- Salvage title - previous owner who had it since the 90s said it was hit in the rear driver side corner years ago. The rear corner, bumper mounts, and bumper were replaced at the time but due to insurance/costs it got a salvage title. Some states will reverse a salvage title, CA will not unfortunately.
