Found a Military light utility vehicle 4x4 vehicle offered for sale in Vancouver, BC. A 1985 Iltis manufactured by Bombardier was designed as a Military typically general or multi-purpose vehicle to be operated by Canadian Army. Powered by a 1.7 liter Volkswagen four-cylinder engine mated with a four-speed manual transmission with additional crawler gear, only 30,000 km on it.

The Iltis is a pioneer of the Audi Quattro AWD system and the winner of the 1980 Paris-Dakar Rally, so no doubt it's a superior vehicle with high off-road ability, and we can switch easily from 2wd to 4wd without stopping and out of the car to lock the hubs.

Switch from 2wd to 4wd from the comfort of the driver’s seat. No need to stop, get out, and lock the hubs. Center differential lock Excellent off road - short wheelbase, with the amazing ability to turn the vehicle around on a single lane bridge. 24 volt military specification The body has three areas where there is minor rust, but replacement panels are readily available to weld in. I have a quote for $900 to cut out and weld these areas, and paint. Spare parts are readily available at reasonable prices through a supplier in Alberta. In my ownership, it was featured in Car & Driver magazine. Mechanical work included new batteries, and new alternator. Just did an oil change! It has otherwise been reliable and I have driven about 2000kms in it. It runs, drives, stops - everything works! Asking $15,000. Qualifies for Vintage Plates. I hope it will stay local.
