Make us your best offer and bring your adventure dreams to life!
We are selling our beloved 1995 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Spacegear Exceed, affectionately named YC. This 4M40 2.8L 4WD high and 4WD low (with locking center differential) Turbo-Diesel van is the Long Wheel Base (LWB) model and it’s more than capable of doing any and all of the following:
• Safely carrying seven passengers, making river shuttles a breeze • Traversing the gnarliest of terrain to reach remote trailheads • Comfortably sleeping two adults and one adventure pup during van camping adventures, including in 17-degree temperatures (we bet you could add at least one tiny human and 1 additional small dog into the mix if you wanted…) • Hauling hard-to-move cargo, including couches, building supplies and more
YC has been good to us, and as we head into a new chapter, we hope to find this loyal, righthand drive adventure mobile its next happy owner who’s excited about what it takes to own a JDM (patience sourcing parts, travel to Portland for major servicing, etc.).
Brand new battery as of August 2023.
Here’s some additional info:
When we purchased YC in February 2021 at 125,020 miles, this van had just had the “The Nomadic Maintenance Routine.” During this process Nomadic Vans based in Sun Valley, Idaho meticulously cleaned the engine. The process included the following engine maintenance: Engine oil & filter change, Air filter replaced, Fuel filter replaced, Fuel lines inspected, Injection pump inspected for leaks, Serpentine belts replaced, 5 Front end oil seals replaced (camshaft, injection pump, crankshaft, balance shaft A & B), Nomadic’s refurbished water pump, Nomadic’s Alternator refurbished, New valve cover gasket, Valve clearance adjusted, Camshaft inspected for wear, Glow plugs replaced when necessary, Manual glow plug switch installed, Manifold gaskets inspected, Injectors inspected and cleaned, Turbo inspected.
In addition, the following took place: New and replaced: 4M40 Power steering pump O-ring, vacuum pump O-rings (small & larger), 4WD solenoid pack, oil drain plug seal washer, radiator, radiator overflow tank, lower radiator hose, upper radiator hose, 2 alternator belts, AC belts, thermostat, fan clutch, harmonic balancer and front crank oil seal. Front brake rotors & pads, rear trailing arm bushings (front and rear), sway bar end link, muffler system, upper ball joint, outer tie rod end, rear differential pinion seal.
The van uses 80w90 gear oil.
Premium wheels and tires: 15'' wheels with beefy 29-inch General Grabber All Terrain Tires with plenty of tread on them.
Windows tinted within legal limit. Bull bar with flood lights.
All oil changes were performed at approximately 3,000 miles.
142,499 miles (229,330 kilometers)
Interior upholstery is in excellent condition and free of any notable rips, stains or odors. Swiveling second row captain chairs. Folding third row bench seats.
The van is reliable and is being sold as is. It will need some love (AC recently went on the fritz, the driver’s seatbelt currently made operable by use of a metal locking clip). Other little quirks here and there.
Selling for $19,500! Comparable 1996 L400 selling for $28,500 for reference: https://nomadicvan.life/orion
